Unfortunately, the biggest crooks are those entrusted with our welfare, safety, security, and economy; Congress, the Pentagon, and Wall Street. Wasting our tax dollars while we are in need of it.
The Pentagon
We always hear and with much appreciation the often-spoken statement “thank you for the service of your country” and I am sure most are well deserving of these kind words. But then what about the civil and military leadership of the Pentagon that managed stupid reckless wars in Vietnam, Iraq, and in Afghanistan and wasted billions?
Published reports estimate that over $145 Billion over 20 years were lost, misused, or unaccounted for, enough money to rebuild Afghanistan to look like Singapore.
Listed below is a partial list of the “crook enterprise the Pentagon ran;
- $559 million of military cargo plane from Italy, which flew only for one year and was sold later as scrap for $40,257.
- A $325 million power facility for Kabul ran at 2.2% capacity because someone forgot Afghanistan does not have its supply of Diesel.
- $36 million marine base that was never wanted or needed.
- $85 million hotel that never opened.
- $1.5 billion annually to fight Opium, it continues to thrive.
- $249 million on a road that was incomplete.
- A major healthcare facility at sea?????
- Award of $5.8 billion food service facilities that was a sham. The company end up paying $288 million in criminal charges and $146 million in civil charges and the government ended up paying $101 million in a whistleblower lawsuit
- $359 million spend on “management” for a contract worth $676 million most of whom were “insiders”.
